Ensure that your manuscript is formatted properly for submission
We expect clean manuscripts that follow the standards of fine writing with minimal grammatical, punctuation, and typographical errors. Your manuscript must be formatted to our Style Guide.
Requirements
To submit a book for review and consideration, review the following requirements, fill out the form, and attach the two documents.
- Your submitted manuscript should be in Word or Apple Pages format.
- It should be carefully edited and proofread for all grammar, punctuation, and typographical errors—we only perform minimal proofreading before formatting and layout. We strongly recommend using an outside editor (many are available online, and we have some freelancers available.) You will have the opportunity to review at least two galley proofs, the final one just before publication. Any remaining errors are the responsibility of the author. We will do reprints if an when any errors are discovered (usually 6 or 12 months after publication).
- Important: Format your document according to our Style Guide. Click here to view. We will return it to you if this is not done.
Formatting
- 12-point Times New Roman or equivalent
- Use Word or Pages “Header 1” style for chapter titles; use “Header 2″ for subheadings. (The Markdown equivalents are #, ##, ###, etc.). Paragraph spacers should use “*” with a “Header 3” style.
- Footnotes and graphics are acceptable
