Our Publication Process
Our Publication Process
Once we have offered you a publication agreement and you have accepted it, we begin the production process. Below is a general overview of the steps involved.
- Formatting
We format your manuscript into proper chapters, sections, front matter, back matter, etc., optimized for both eBook and print editions. - Proofreading
We conduct a thorough proofreading pass to correct basic typos, grammar, and other errors. - Galley Proof Review
We send you a print galley proof for review of formatting and typographical issues. We repeat this stage as needed until both you and we are fully satisfied that all significant errors have been corrected to the best of our ability.
Note: Every published book may contain minor residual errors despite our efforts. Once the galley proof is approved and we proceed to publication, we cannot accept editorial changes more than once per year. Substantial revisions would require a new “second edition.” At this stage, we can set up pre-order availability if you wish. - Cover Design
Our designer begins work on the cover during the formatting and proofing phase. While we reserve final approval as the publisher to ensure brand consistency, we welcome and value your input and aim to collaborate closely for your satisfaction. - Cover Review
We send the completed cover design to you for review and feedback. - Final Files and Distribution
Once we are both satisfied with the interior and exterior, we deliver the eBook files to distribution platforms and the print files to our printers and distributors. (See our list of distributors and retailers for details.) - Author Copies
We provide you with three complimentary publication copies. You may also order additional author copies at your discounted rate through our online shop. - Promotion
We promote your book via press releases, our monthly newsletter, and social media channels. Social media promotion runs weekly for the first two weeks after release, then monthly for the following ten months, and periodically thereafter.
We are happy to partner with you on additional efforts, such as sending review copies, offering promotional discounts, creating advertising graphics, and more. - Sales and Royalties Tracking
Through your author portal, you can view up-to-date sales figures (paperback, eBook, and audiobook), as well as royalties earned. - Royalty Payments
You receive royalty payments annually in January or February for sales from the previous calendar year.
This process is designed to produce a high-quality book efficiently while maintaining open communication and collaboration with our authors. If you have questions about any step, please let us know.
