Most of you are aware of the devastating earthquake which struck Nepal on Saturday, April 25, 2015. Nepal is a small country, with many widespread mountain villages; it is most famous for the base camps and ascent to Mount Everest, but also relies heavily on tourism. The earthquake has taxed the country far beyond its means, and as of this writing, there are over 4,000 dead.
We at Sulis are donating through Mountain Child, an organization that has been working in the region for over 15 years to help the children (20% of whom die before age 9) by distributing food, medical care, and education. We have two wonderful friends who have been working there for years. They survived the disaster, and are now working throughout the mountain region in relief. It is not only our connection with them that encouraged us to help; they know the region, the people, and the culture as well as anyone. They will use the money wisely.

All donated funds are passed directly to the relief effort through Mountain Child—we pass it all directly on. (The credit processing system, Stripe, will take 35 cents plus 2.9% processing.)

Click below to begin the process. It is simple and quick. You can make the donation in someone’s name, or add a message to the workers and the people they are aiding.
The donation is tax-deductible, of course, and a receipt will be email for your records.
