What better way to enrich your prayers than to study those found in the Bible? This devotional Bible study does just that. This is a unique new bible study and devotional book by author, writer, and teacher Markus McDowell. Drawing on his 30-year career of research, writing, and teaching about prayer in the ancient world, Dr. McDowell has written this book for the rest of us.
From the back cover:

Do your prayers seem lifeless or ineffective? Do you find yourself not knowing what to pray? Or how to pray?

What better way to enrich your prayer life than to study the prayers in the Bible? This book takes the reader through every prayer, prayer teaching, or reference to prayer in Genesis through Joshua. Each chapter examines a prayer passage and combines a bible study with a practical application, opening up the Bible’s presentation of prayer.

Praying Through the Bible begins with a general discussion of prayer, some ideas about how we should approach bible study, and a description of the nine types of prayer. Each chapter begins with the prayer passage itself, followed by an exploration of passage’s setting, context, and meaning. This deeper understanding of the passage leads to some
ideas about what the passage teaches about prayer and how we can use it to enrich our own prayers.

Perfect for use as a daily or weekly devotional, for a Bible study focused on prayer, and for personal growth or a group study. The book includes an appendix and an index.
